New Ford Mustang: the ULTIMATE Muscle Car?

It’s the latest generation of the iconic muscle car, and it may be the last one to get the thumping great V8 engine. The new Mustang is available with the same 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine as before, however it’s now got a new turbocharger. You can bet that it’ll produce more than the 330hp of the current car, however power figures are under wraps for now. That’s all well and good, but you want a mustang for the V8, don’t you? Well you’ll be pleased to hear that this latest iteration is still available with a glorious 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8. As with the four-cylinder, Ford hasn’t spilled the beans on power yet, but it’ll almost certainly have more than the current car's 450hp. That’s not all, because Ford has revealed a track-focussed version of the Mustang called the Dark Horse. Sounds lairy right? Well Ford are ‘projecting’ 500hp from this model, putting it right in the BMW M4’s firing line. You won’t be able to get the mustang with all-wheel-drive, however you do have the option of a manual gearbox unlike its German alternatives.
